In the corrugated board industry, paraffin wax is a water and moisture barrier. Fully refined paraffin wax can pass FDA process and safe to contact with the vegetables and fruits. By the modification, paraffin wax is endowed with the special physical properties, it is better adherent to the cardboard fiber, improving the brittleness of paraffin wax, producing a stable and even coating layer. That makes the carton box with good water resistance and flexibility which has superior performance on packing frozen food and seafood
In paper industry, paraffin wax is emulsified to wax emulsion as a sizing agent. It can be used in internal sizing and surface sizing. It lifts up the paper quality and prevent the starch in the pulp form sticking to the surface o the paperboard. It can improve the water resistance of the paper, reduce the fluffing of the paper surface, and also improve the smoothness of the paper surface and the light stability of the paper.
